What are the relationships between fire management policies, fire sciences and local fire use practices in Latin America and the Caribbean?
10 – 11 May 2023, Montpellier, France and online via YouTube
Organizers: Bibiana Bilbao (Universidad Simón Bolívar, USB, Caracas, COBRA Collective, MAK’IT MUSE Montpellier), Ludivine Eloy (CNRS, UMR ART-dev, Montpellier), Alexandre Gaudin (AgroParisTech, UMR SENS), Jayalaxshmi Mistry (Leverhulme Centre for Wildfires, Cobra Collective CIC, Royal Holloway University of London), Marie Toussau (UMR SENS – Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD).
This event is a joint effort of several organisations and projects, to find a shared space where we can know our perspectives on fire management in Latin America, exchange experiences and knowledge, and explore solutions for the challenges of integrated fire management, including the biocultural diversities of our region. Unity is strength, so we hope to consolidate links with colleagues in Europe and other parts of the world to strengthen actions for more inclusive and and fair fire management policies, adapted to our realities.
